Diamonds Leisure Beach and Golf Resort is a large beachfront property on Diani Beach, set within tropical grounds beside the Indian Ocean. As part of Diamonds Hotels and Resorts, managed by Planhotel Hospitality Group, it offers international-standard facilities in a south-coast setting. The resort’s key features include an on-site 18-hole golf course, direct beach access, four pools, diverse accommodation options and a comprehensive activity program.

The resort is ideal for golfers, families and groups seeking golf, beach access and resort amenities in one location. It offers a more social atmosphere than a private Diani villa.

Accessing the resort

Diamonds Leisure Beach and Golf Resort is located on Diani Beach Road in Ukunda, Kwale County. Ukunda Airport is the nearest, typically a 10-minute drive away. A Kenya fly-in safari makes Diani a convenient coastal extension, with domestic flights from Nairobi and select safari destinations, subject to current schedules.

Mombasa serves as the main alternative gateway, with road transfers via the Dongo Kundu route. Guests arriving by SGR can continue by private road transfer. We coordinate domestic flights, private transfers and arrival arrangements as part of your itinerary.

A beachfront resort built around golf

The resort spans a 38-acre beachfront estate with tropical gardens, conference facilities and four outdoor pools. The on-site 18-hole, par-72 golf course measures about 6,084 meters and features 85 bunkers and a large lake. As part of the Diani Golf Club, the course offers a challenging experience for seasoned golfers while remaining accessible to beginners.

Golfers can enjoy on-site play while scheduling beach, pool or spa time. The annual Diani Beach Masters typically takes place in October. Golfers visiting then should request tee times in advance.

Rooms, suites and Oasis villas

Accommodation options include garden rooms, sea-view rooms, Junior Suites and Oasis Villa clusters. Oasis Villas are particularly suitable for families, friends, golf groups and multigenerational travellers, as they offer multiple private rooms around shared outdoor areas.

Golf is central to Diamonds Leisure Beach and Golf Resort. The course features water and sand hazards for experienced players. Beginners can request private or group lessons with the golf professional, subject to availability.

We can arrange tee times, caddies, club hire and lessons before travel, subject to golf club availability. Fees for these services are charged separately.

Non-golfers and children can enjoy four freshwater outdoor pools, including a children’s pool, plus the beach, Mvua Rain Spa, fitness facilities, water-sports centre, beach volleyball and table tennis. Conference and banqueting facilities are available for meetings, incentives, celebrations and weddings.

Dining and family facilities

Board options include Premium All Inclusive, half-board and bed and breakfast, depending on your package. We confirm board basis, inclusions and dietary requirements before finalizing your itinerary.

Diani Restaurant offers buffet meals featuring international, regional, Asian and Italian cuisine, with early buffet times for children. Frangipane Pizzeria serves Italian lunch and dinner. Coral Beach Restaurant and Bar provides ocean-facing à la carte dining. Bahari Bar overlooks the ocean, and Maweni Pool Bar offers poolside drinks and snacks. The variety of venues ensures diverse dining for longer stays.

Children have access to the children’s pool, activity program, and Kids Make Your Own Pizza sessions where available.

Coastal activities and excursions

The resort serves as a base for exploring Diani’s marine and inland activities. Kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding may be included in your package. Scuba diving, kitesurfing, wing foiling and deep-sea fishing are arranged through specialist providers, usually at an additional cost. Snorkeling, reef trips, glass-bottom boat rides and Kongo River sunset outings are also available.

For shorter land-based excursions, guests can visit Colobus Conservation, Kaya Kinondo Sacred Forest or Shimba Hills National Reserve, including Sheldrick Falls. Wasini Island and Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park are recommended for guests staying four or five nights, as these trips require more time.

Water activities depend on tides, weather, wind, sea conditions and provider availability. Wildlife sightings, fish catches and optimal kitesurfing are not guaranteed. We balance golf, coastal activities and downtime to ensure non-golfers and younger travellers have a manageable schedule.

Safari and coast route planning

Diani is a suitable extension after visiting Tsavo East, Tsavo West, Amboseli or the Maasai Mara. Tsavo East offers the most direct overland connection via Bachuma Gate, subject to traffic and road conditions.

For instance, a 3-Day Tsavo East Safari gives travellers time for multiple game drives before continuing to Diani. Golfers can schedule tee times and practice sessions, while other guests enjoy the beach, pools, spa and coastal excursions. This creates a comprehensive safari, golf and beach holiday.

Longer itineraries can include Tsavo West or Amboseli, and domestic flights may connect Diani with Nairobi and select safari circuits. We tailor each route to your safari priorities, golf plans and transfer preferences.

Game drives do not operate from the resort. Shimba Hills is a separate reserve near Diani and is better considered as a coastal day excursion.
