Location and getting there

African House Resort is on Mahogany Road in Casuarina, around 2 kilometers from Malindi town center, approximately 3 kilometers from Malindi Airport and about 400 meters from the beach. Malindi Marine National Park is an estimated 10–15-minute walk away.

Guests arriving at Malindi Airport can reach the resort quickly after a domestic flight. For international arrivals via Mombasa’s Moi International Airport, the road transfer is longer. We coordinate airport transfers around your flights, including connections between the airport, safari camps and the resort.

Self-drive guests have access to secure complimentary parking within the walled compound. The front desk arranges chauffeured or self-drive vehicle hire for local travel and exploration.

The villa and rooms

The property has seven individually styled Superior Double Rooms. Each has a private veranda facing the tropical gardens, a four-poster bed with mosquito netting, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, satellite TV, a minibar, a safe and a large en-suite bathroom.

The rooms overlook the gardens, offering privacy, greenery and a peaceful retreat after the beach or a day exploring Malindi. With only seven rooms, the property feels like a private villa rather than a large hotel.

Shared spaces reflect the same design, with high wooden ceilings, hand-carved columns, African art and antiques throughout the villa. The garden offers shaded areas to read, relax or escape the busier parts of town.

At the center of the garden is an Africa-shaped swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers. The poolside bar and lounge serve drinks throughout the day. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas. The property also has 24-hour reception, secure on-site parking and a compact fitness space with essential equipment suitable for short holiday workouts.

The à la carte restaurant serves breakfast, followed by Italian and Swahili dishes for lunch and dinner. Guests can enjoy breakfast on the veranda or in the garden, with tea, coffee and pastries available each afternoon.

As a seven-room boutique property, the resort does not offer extensive recreation equipment. Instead, the reception coordinates specialized coastal activities with trusted local partners, letting guests select experiences that suit their preferences.

Arrangements include deep-sea fishing charters, PADI scuba diving and snorkeling at Malindi Marine National Park, and advance access to nearby golf courses. Our team works to incorporate airport transfers and selected activities into your itinerary.
