La Experiencia

This 2-day Tsavo East safari can start in the morning from Mombasa, Diani, Kilifi, or Watamu. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, spend the night at a lodge inside or near the park, and leave the following day. Although a 2-day trip won't let you see the whole park, you will see the main attractions most people come to see: Aruba Dam, the Galana River, and the open plains where you can spot the famous red elephants.

2 days versus 3 or 4 days

A two-day safari in Tsavo East includes two game drives and one night in the park. On a three-day trip, you have an extra day, during which you usually do three or four drives and have enough time to visit both the northern and southern sections of the park rather than staying near your entrance gate. A four-day trip typically combines Tsavo East with Tsavo West, letting you see the volcanic scenery, visit Mzima Springs and its underwater viewing area, and sometimes include a guided walk. If you have a tight schedule or want to combine your safari with a beach holiday, choose two days. However, if you want to focus on more wildlife viewing, choose three or four days.

Día 1

Tsavo East
Nairobi to the Red Plains of Tsavo

Meet your Halo Safaris & DMC driver-guide in Nairobi and depart early for Tsavo East. The direct journey southeast is timed to reach the lodge or camp for lunch and leave the afternoon free for wildlife viewing.

Enter the park for a focused first game drive across open plains and seasonal waterways. Search for the red-dust elephants that define Tsavo, together with buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and antelopes. As the heat eases, lions, cheetahs and other predators may begin to stir.

Leave the park at sunset and return to the lodge or camp for dinner and the overnight stay.

Día 2

Nairobi
Sunrise, Wildlife and the Road to Nairobi

Have breakfast, check out and make the most of the cool morning with a final game drive. Depending on recent sightings and the lodge location, the guide may work the tracks around Aruba Dam, where wildlife often gathers near the water.

On leaving the Tsavo area, stop at a nearby Maasai village for a brief cultural encounter. Learn about local traditions and view handmade crafts; the village fee is paid directly unless it forms part of the confirmed package.

Continue to Nairobi with a self-sponsored lunch stop en route. Drop-off in the late afternoon or early evening will be at the airport, a Nairobi hotel or another agreed location.
